My First Freshwater Fish

About 8 years ago I was invited to Bjelke-Petersen Dam with some mates, I had always lived on the coast therefore had never freshwater fished. We were on the water at 5.00am and trolled every square inch of that bloody dam, nothing. About 10.00am we were trolling past the sticks when my rod almost jumped out of my hands (had nothing to do with me nodding off) So i yelled to Alex to stop the boat, I'm snagged. When the boat stopped I realised I was on and it wasn't small. Shortly after I pulled up my first ever fresh water fish to find a 51cm, 4 1/2lb Bass. The guys on the boat ramp later that day told me that it's all down hill from here, you peaked to soon.

Hey Smithy

It was a pretty good feeling bringing in a fish of that size, knowing it was my first fresh water fish. Have you fished fresh water ?
