2 guys overboard on the clarence river

I was fishing with a mate about 4 years ago on the clarence river, we were watching a couple of young guys about 19 or 20 zipping around like idiots all day. They went flat out everywhere they went but they came unstuck later in the day. The clarence river has a lot of very shallow parts on low tide and these guys were flat out in their tinny when they hit, the boat stopped instantly with the motor screaming and the 2 guys shot out the front into the water. We went over to see if they were alright, it just bruised their ego a little and bent the prop a bit too.

I saw 3 guys do exactly the same thing on the Kolan river just north of Bundaberg, directly out the front of the Miara caravan park. They were at high speeds on low tide and some how didn't see the sand bank which i could see clearly from the the waters edge. They hit hard and all 3 were thrown over the front of the boat as well as most of their rods and tackle boxes. They were OK as well but just goes to show if you don't know the river go slow, especially on low tide.
