My Easter on the Clarence River

Well I hope you all had a great easter because mine wasn't as much fun as I would of liked. We towed the boat from Brisbane to Maclean (about 3 1/2 hours) only to discover that the motor was only running on one cylinder, and of course nothing is open over easter so the boat sat high and dry for most of the break. One good thing though, my 11 year old daughter was board so she dangled my rod over the bridge which had a soft plastic yabbie rigged up, it was in the water about 5 seconds and she pulled up a 35cm flathead. You know, we all try different techniques to catch the fish but my daughter never fails to catch one, and she is never really trying. Most of the time she is day dreaming and just waving the rod side to side and huming some tune. Oh well, I did spend some quality time with the kids and I did relax over the break so that's a good thing.

It is a shame your motor died because the clarence has some good spots. I went fishing with a mate on the clarence and did very well. 2 good lizards and a esky full of decent bream.
